About The Role

ForeverCare have a number of opportunities to join our ever expanding team as a
Placement Manager, this will be a service for Young people aged 16-18 years.

this role is based on a rota basis working between Monday to Friday and shared  weekends shift pattern will be 8am until 5.30pm subject to change

This role is based in Sunderland

Main Purpose of Job is:

  • To offer quality support to young peoples to enable them to develop positive life skills in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures.
  • To respect, value and nurture service users to allow their individual talents and strengths to develop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To work alongside the staff in managing the homes in an efficient manner with the available resources, ensuring these are used to the best effect for the proper care of the young people and running and maintenance of the homes.

2. Requires excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to take responsibility for own work load.

3. Ensure that training needs are identified and monitored accurately to ensure the skills and experience of staff is in fitting with the needs of the homes

4. Seek to maintain the maximum level of individuality and independence of the children within solo living.

5. Ensure that all children receive proper medical, dental and all health care needs are met appropriate to their individual needs and that they are kept under regular planned review.

6. Participate in reviews, meetings, case conferences etc as and when required.

7. Ensure that proper attention is given by staff to the health, safety and welfare matters throughout the home, including fire precautions, in order to minimise the risk of accidents and hurt or damage to children, staff, property and equipment.

8. Co-operate at all times with the differing social services departments, staff and other professionals in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Insofar as they affect the home and the company, and to seek the advice of line management.

Qualifications and Experience:

Desirable Qualification

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services

Level 5 Scottish Certificates are equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Non UK qualifications/International certificates are NOT applicable to the UK Care system and are not therefore recognised.

experience of working with Ofsted and the knowledge of regulations set out by them.

  • 6 months experience in a relevant field is desirable but not essential as in house training will be provided.
  • Transferable Adults and Childrens DBS is desirable but not essential

Our children's Services provide person centred support and care for children and young people with a variety of different needs and requirements.

 
In our Supported Living service staff support young people aged 16+ towards living independently and keeping themselves safe and bettering their lives. This may involve working 1 to 1 or with other staff to support young people who are vulnerable and can show challenging behaviour. ForeverCare's aim with supported living is to help these young people change their life direction to a better one and prepare them for adulthood and living independently while keeping themselves safe.
